County Information

Baker County, located in Northeast Oregon, has a population of 16,400 and covers 3,049 square miles.  The county seat, Baker City, is the largest community with a population of 10,035.  Situated at the base of the Elkhorn Mountains at an elevation of 3,369 feet, Baker City offers abundant recreational opportunities; from skiing fresh powder in the winter to hiking, camping, and fishing on the thousands of acres of national forests and wilderness located throughout the county. The views are breath-taking, the air is clean and the people are genuine.
